The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The watch has a key-wound movement which is working nicely.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 53mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1898 with a maker’s mark for Alfred Bedford, the manager of the London branch of Waltham. The case has some mild bruising and some wear to the engine turned detail on the back but overall it is in nice condition for an 1890s piece.
The watch glass has some faint marking from use although very acceptable.
The signed white enamel dial is in nice condition.
The hour hand is later although antique.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
