19thc Regency Giltwood & Gesso Gilt Pier Mirror of Large Proportions with Original Mirror Plate

An early 19th century Regency wood and gesso gilt pier mirror of large proportions with original mirror plate.

This mirror consists of a decorative giltwood and gesso frame with flower design corner blocks to each of the top corners with moulded edge to the top and the sides.

This leads down to central decoration consisting of superb scrolling foliate and berry designs, possibly mistletoe.

The mirror plate has a reeded ad ebonised slip surrounding it, the mirror plate being original, with some foxing.

To the reverse, the mirror has had some additional pine boards attached at a later date, probably to make the mirror more stable.

This mirror is in very good condition and can go straight into a home.
