Description

This is a most appealing armchair in the William and Mary style by Robsons of Newcastle dating from around 1900. The chair has a great shape with outswept arms and scroll back and has been recently fully reupholstered in this attractive tartan wool cloth. The walnut frame also has a good shape, with further burr walnut inlaid to the faces of the legs and an attractive crinoline style understretcher. The separate squab cushion is feather filled making this a very comfortable seat. The chair bears its original manufacturers lable under the front rail and is in excellent order throughout and measures 92 cms high 72 cms wide by 62 cms deep. The seat height is 48 cms.
