19th Century Lovely Set of 6 Pierced Lattice and Slat Back Mahogany Dining Chairs in the Chippendale Style.

Description

19th century mahogany elegant and generous lattice and slat back set of 6 dining chairs in the Chippendale style, recently recovered in damask drop in seats.

The lovely carved backs are surmounted with a top rail that gently curves into scroll ends. The pierced backs are very stylish and comfortable.

The seats are generous in size, making them suitable for men as well as women. The chairs stand on square chamfered legs united by stretchers, making them quite sturdy.

Great colour and patination, and in very good condition.

Size overall-37.5 inches high by 21 inches wide by 17.5 inches deep. Seat size-21 inches wide by 16.25 inches deep by 18.5 inches high.

A lovely and comfortable set of dining chairs, whose style and colour will complement any table.

Serpentine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
