A charming small Georgian period fruitwood mirror. The mirror is of a typical pier glass design but of small proportions and obviously country made. The wood is fruitwood and it has also been line inlaid with boxwood. The top has a pleasing arched shape and is mounted by a gilt brass urn finial, the sides have little ring hangers but are probably more for decoration than to carry the mirror. The mirror plates appear to be the original and are in good condition. The whole is in lovely untouched condition and the wood has a good patina and colour, and it has a great country look. C.1810.
