Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The stuffover seat has close brass studding, and the chairs are united underneath by a H stretcher. Finishing on a turned, raised toe with the front legs one brass rings and castors. They are in excellent condition.
Roy Kirby Leathers of London were the upholsterer to the Houses of Commons and Lords. This is a similar design to a set seen in the Houses of Parliament. The original set is by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin, a prolific designer who worked on the new Palace of Westminster.
