Description:
Here is a fine quality pair of antique French walnut upholstered Fauteuil armchairs, circa 1870, which have been newly upholstered, in good condition. The chairs are constructed of solid walnut frames and feature high padded backs, supported by lovely down swept arms, which terminate in scroll ends, carved with acanthus leaves, on ring turn vertical supports. The sprung seats are extremely comfortable to sit on; they are firm and do not sag. The armchairs have been newly upholstered in top quality. The chairs have been newly upholstered in top quality pale gold “fleur-de-lis” pattern cotton & silk brocade upholstery, finished with matching braiding. The undersides of the chairs have been recovered with traditional hessian material. The chairs are raised on baluster turned legs, interspersed with block work, which are connected with turned “H” stretchers for additional support.

These armchairs are in good condition. The chairs have been newly upholstered in top quality. The chairs have been newly upholstered in top quality pale gold “fleur-de-lis” pattern cotton & silk brocade upholstery, finished with matching braiding. Therefore the upholstery is in new, excellent & clean condition. The undersides of the chairs have also been recovered with traditional hessian material. The sprung seats are firm but extremely comfortable to sit on; they do not sag and you do not sink into the seat. The frames and arms are in good condition. The chairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble. These chairs are well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
