A Georgian Swing Toilet Mirror

18th century
Description

A late Georgian toilet mirror with a simple mahogany swing frame. The mirror is surrounded in a typical Georgian moulded frame with a fret cut crest to the top. Brass acorn shaped finials top the upright supports. The brass adjusting screw mechanisms have been replaced probably in Victorian times by Georgian style bows. The mirror plate is good with some small imperfections which reflect its age and usage. The back board is original.

Overall height 47 cm to the top of the crest

Overall width at the base 27 cm

The mirror plate measures 20 cm wide by 30 high.
