Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
They have moulded backs, splayed back legs and tapering moulded front legs with a H stretcher for added stability. There have been the usual old repairs but do not detract in any way from the character and authenticity of these delightful chairs. The upholstery is clean and in good condition and the mahogany had aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
