This is a super quality pair of antique Arts & Crafts chairs, they date from around 1880, designed by Ernest Archibald Taylor, an artist, designer of furniture, interiors and stained glass, for the Scottish company, Wylie & Lockhead.
Both are in excellent, clean and orignal condition, the upholstered seats are in calico.
