. Carved 'interlaced' and pierced ribbon splat backs with excellent attention to detail of the carving. The shaped top cresting rail with carved flower-head corners and leaf detail .Raised upon carved cabriole fore-legs with well-executed carved acanthus-leaf knees , terminating in scroll-form toes or "French feet" . The lower front seat rail of serpentine shape with carved moulded decoration.

The splat built in the traditional C18th chair-makers style with a two-piece 'shoe' joining to the frame of the chair. The rear splayed supports with a good raked angle.
Drop-in seats with aged red leatherette covering .

Historic minor repairs commensurate with age and use . Strong , sturdy frames .
Highly decorative side ,hall or dining chairs of broad period-style proportions .
