A Very Rare Set of 12 Arm Chairs in Arts and Crafts Style

1900 - 1920
Description

The Arts and Crafts movement started in England in the latter part of the 1800s and continued into the early 1900s. This set of 12 chairs are really rather special, we dont ever recall having a set like this in the last 40 years. The odd chair of course we have had, but 12, no!.

They are in a used condition and as we keep getting asked for something a little rustic we have decided that these will stay as they are unless someone would like us to restore them.

We will however before they leave our premises undertake some rejointing where maybe half a dozen joints are a little loose. The seats are all in rush and a in perfectly useable condition, some have been re rushed in the recent past. The legs are supported by stretchers as can be seen in the pictures and note the rather appealing double stretcher between the front legs. They look good these chairs and would go fantastically well in a large conservatory perhaps or maybe in your French Chateau. In an unrestored condition they are very keenly priced at only £1500, thats only £125 per chair. If you look on most web sites you will see a single chair at twice this price or more, there is a big premium on a set of 12 so these are seriously keenly priced. If you wanted these cleaned and French polished it can be done with pleasure but it would about double the price. They would still not be an expensive set for what they are.

Size tba.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
