A large gilt oval mirror of late eighteenth century Adam design. The mirror is very Neoclassical in theme with an egg and dart outside edge and interior mirror segments seperated by sunburst designs, with an interior moulded oval of leaf and ribbon design. The mirror is Victorian in date and therfore is slightly heavier and bolder than the Adam originals would be. The mirror has had some old repair but overall is in great condition and has a wonderful country house style and look and would even work well in an oak and country interior. The mirror retains the original mirror plate that has some foxing, and can be hung horizontally or vertically. C.1880.
