A fantastic quality 19th Century satinwood and rosewood cabinet, the satinwood banded shaped cornice decorated with a porcelain plaque at the centre, the frieze below also having a porcelain plaque at the centre with lovely quality ormolu beading running along the front and sides, the bookcase glazed at the sides as well as the front, the glazed door decorated with small ormolu beading around the edges, opening to reveal three shelves inside, the front of the bookcase having two porcelain plaques either side and lovely quality ormolu mounts in the shape of figure heads at the top and shaped ormolu mounts at the bottom, the bottom section profusely decorated with ormolu mounts and beading and having a large porcelain plaque at the centre of the door depicting a scene of a young couple, the door opening to reveal a single lined shelf inside, the cabinet supported on a shaped plinth. Circa 1870.

Martlesham Antiques is a family run business and has been trading since 1984. Located in Suffolk just outside Woodbridge, Martlesham Antiques is run from a spacious thatched cottage housing nine large showrooms with a vast adjacent car park.

Specialising in 18th and 19th Century furniture, together with creating custom hand-made furniture which is supplied to various interior designers, trade and the retail market. Every piece on the showroom floor is in excellent condition and ready to go straight into the buyers home or premises.

All of Martlesham Antiques furniture is hand polished by their own French polishers and restorers to a very high standard. We are also a member of LAPADA, the association of art and antiques.
