. Undoubtedly a bespoke piece of ingenious early C19th design , allowing easy movement of the chair whilst remaining seated to move around a library or office.

The shaped-back mahogany framed armchair with scroll arms above reeded tapering front legs with a moulded front seat-rail. The shaped flat platform beneath allowing for transportation or storage of books or files. The 4 large brass castors of substantial scale and proportion with gilded brass spoke wheels. The bergere cane-work all original and complete.

In excellent original condition . The timber of good rich colour and patina . An open joint caused by natural shrinkage to rear quarter of the platform .The cane-work in perfect and original condition and the whole benefitting from light use.
