George II Carved Giltwood Pier Mirror

Description

A good quality and impressive George II period GILTWOOD MIRROR in excellent original condition. Surmounted by a 'broken arch' pediment with a carved and gilded urn to the centre, and a carved 'shell' to the lower pediment, the frame is well carved and retains its original gilding. The "Vauxhall" plate itself is also original with its wide shallow bevelling and of good colour. Measurements: 47ins high and 27.5ins wide (120 x 68cms).
