Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The chairs stand on elegant sabre legs, there are no loose joints and the chairs are very comfortable to sit on. The cane seats are in good order and are topped with drop in seats covered in a cream moire fabric to enhance the mellow colour of the wood. The chair seats have been newly recovered in our workshop. There is some historic woodworm damage which has been treated and historic restorations to two of the chair backs and a repair to one leg. This is a very well presented set of chairs that would add elegance to any interior.
