Set of Eight 19th Century Alder Dining Chairs of Good Patina

A set of eight late 19th century alder dining chairs (or kitchen chairs) of good patina (colour) from the Lancashire area.

Each of the chairs consist of a shaped top rail with a straight back splat and shaped uprights to each side leading down to the original rush seats (all in good condition).

The front legs consist of a square top with chamfered edges leading down to a ball and ring turning with turned legs and vase shaped feet.

The front legs are supported by a turned front rail, the back legs being of square design with a single stretcher to the back and double stretchers to the side.

Similar examples can be found in 'The English Regional Chair' by Bernard D Cotton, page 424.

This set of chairs are in excellent conditon for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
