Late 19th Century French Giltwood & Gesso Mirror

A late 19th century French giltwood and gesso mirror with engraved glass of rectangular form with re-entrant corners.

This mirror consists of a rectangular frame with re-entrant corners with an egg and dart moulding with rosettes to the corners.

The four inner corners of the glass have good quality engraved decoration with an inner oval frame decorated with carved husks and ribbons with original bevelled glass to the centre.

The mirror can be hung either landscape or portrait and the original plate is in good original condition with some foxing.
