Set of 6 Queen Anne Style Bergere Chairs

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1900, set of 6 Queen Anne style walnut chairs, comprising 2 armchairs and 4 single chairs. The classic domed back with 2 bergere panels and solid centre splat. There are 2 shaped arms with curled ends that splay out towards the front. These are held in place by a turned balustrade which tapers elegantly from the seat. The seat is bergere and has a simple apron. All stands on cabriole legs at the front with very stylish stretchers, which unusually are at the top below the knee. The back legs are square turned and out swept. There are turned stretchers connecting all the legs making the chairs quite sturdy. The chairs are clean, stylish and excellent condition.

Armchair 111cm high x 59cm wide x 59cm deep.

Single chairs 108cm high x 50cm wide x 54cm deep.
