The beautiful old glass plate is retained by an elaborate pierced frame of carved wood – not moulded plaster – comprised of a ropetwist border surrounded by flamboyant deeply carved acanthus leaves and corner motifs. The stunning finish is the original water gilding with a soft glowing lustre shine. It can be hung in portrait or landscape orientation.
