Harlequin Set of 12 Early Spindleback Dining Chairs

A good well matched set of twelve spindleback dining chairs with ten sides and two carvers. The set have been made up from individual sets of chairs but have been together for many years and hence do match very well. The colour match is great and the chairs are all in good condition, but there are some differences in design. The chairs are partly rush seated and some have seagrass seats but again all match very well. This type of chair is often quite low but all have been tipped to lift them to modern seat height, this has been done to a very high stand in the past and does not show. This set has come from a local large house where they have been for many years around a large refectory table. The chairs are all ash and elm and have a great patina and the chairs are all of a good early date.
