Description:
Here is a fine quality set of eight late Victorian mahogany dining chairs in the style of the Georgian Chippendale period, having newly upholstered seats, circa 1900. The set consists of six side chairs and two armchairs. The chairs features shaped serpentine top rails and a finely executed pierced central fretwork splat. The chairs have drop in seats, which have been newly upholstered in top quality hard wearing cream wool & cotton woven upholstery. The two armchairs feature shaped arms with scroll ends. The chairs stand on elegant cabriole legs that terminate on pad feet. This is a true set of chairs (they have not been matched together) and they are extremely comfortable. The chairs are heavy in weight; this is a further sign of quality.

Condition Report:
This set of chairs is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of them. This is a true set of chairs (i.e. they have not been matched / married together). The seats have been newly upholstered in top quality cream wool & cotton woven upholstery. The seats are firm but extremely comfortable. The chairs are heavy in weight, which is a good sign of quality. As this set of chairs retains its original polish, it ensures there is an excellent colour and patination to the timber. This colour can only be found in furniture with its original polish; it cannot be recreated with new polish. These chairs are very well made; they are solid in joint (not loose or wobbly) and are ready to use.
