Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany revolving office armchair (circa 1890) in excellent condition.

Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany revolving office armchair (circa 1890) in excellent condition. The chair features an elegant shaped bar back inset with sunburst scribe carvings that connect to open turned ball arms, with shaped upright vertical supports. The chair features a green padded full grain leather seat. The leather is finished with brass studwork to the perimeter of the seat. The underside of the seat has been webbed in the traditional manner. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit on. The chair stands on prominent cabriole legs that feature reeded detail to the centres of the legs. This chair was not designed to have and has never had castors. The chair rotates 360 degrees and the seat height is fixed. The mechanism on this chair has been cleaned and serviced and is in good condition.

This item features a rich red-brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:

The chair and its mechanism are in good working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair mechanism has been cleaned and serviced. The chair features a full grain top quality green leather seat, which incorporates the traditional webbing to the underside. The chair is designed to rotate 360 degrees; it is not designed to recline or be height adjustable. This chair was not designed to have and has never had castors. Importantly, there are no breaks to the back, arms or legs. As the chair boasts its original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
