Huge Georgian Sheraton Mahogany Dressing Mirror. C. 1810

19th century
Description

Wonderful quality Georgian Sheraton mahogany and inlaid dressing mirror of gigantic proportions. This mirror is of the highest quality of manufacture. The mirror frame and uprights are all moulded on the face with a multiple reed type mould.

The base with three drawers, the top veneered in very nice flame mahogany veneer with mahogany cross banding and boxwood line inlay. The base retains its original ogee bracket feet. The drawers are mahogany lined inside, inlaid with boxwood line on the outside with original brass handles. The locks are later Victorian VR patent lever locks.

All the brass fittings are original as is the mirror plate. The top brass finials are particularly nice.

The mirror is in very good condition and is a lovely colour.
