Iron Onlaid Japanese Dragon Box by "Nogawa" Artist Signed

Description

As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this fine onlaid iron box by the renowned Nogawa company of Kyoto , the solid iron hinged box is onlaid in solid gold and silver to the lid and depicts a snow capped mount Fuji in the foreground and a wonderful quality chased three clawed dragon in the top corner, the box is fitted with silver feet and is lined to the interior , the Nogawa factory mark is impressed in silver to the base and the artist has signed the box on the lid.

The exterior condition is lovely ,it is hard to be critical but the interior silver lining is stained and the hinge is slightly sprung causing the box to close tight , overall a fantastic mixed metal box from a highly regarded maker.
