Here is an example of a superb quality pair of Victorian Cuban mahogany balloon back dining chairs, circa 1850, in good condition. The chairs feature an attractive ribbed “balloon” shaped back, with a shaped central horizontal splat. The chairs feature stuff-over seats on a serpentine front rail, which are upholstered in brown dralon upholstery. The chairs stand on elegant moulded cabriole legs with splayed legs to the rear. These chairs have been constructed from the finest quality Cuban mahogany timber, which is heavier and far superior in quality compared to usual types of antique mahogany chairs. They also boast stunning quality moulded frames.
The set of chairs features a lovely dark rich brown mahogany colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.

This set of chairs is in good original condition. The chairs boast a dark rich brown mahogany colour and patination. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frames but nothing significant considering their age. The stuff-over seats and upholstery are clean and in good condition. The upholstery is therefore clean and free from marks. The seat frames and chair joints are also solid. There are no breaks to the backs, frames or legs of any of the chairs. All chairs are therefore solid in joint and are ready to be used.
