Description

An absolutely charming example of a Victorian child's rocking chair. This elegant piece of English furniture – dating from c.1870s/c.1880s – is comprised of a well-figured solid elm seat supported by turned legs united by an H-stretcher on the original curved rocking runners. Above the seat are gently curving uprights united by a plain barback and a turned midrail so typical of Windsor chairs of this period. It retains its original finish with a rich warm colour and patination, and is in superb condition throughout.
