French White Early 20th Century Armchair Upholstered in a Colourful Tropical Fabric

Description

This is a french arm chair dating from the early 20th century. It has been re-upholstered in 'Hothouse', a colourful and striking fabric designed by Sophie Thompson of Terrarium. The design features tropical plants and flowers and was inspired by the Orchid exhibition at Kew Gardens in which the glasshouses are filled with thousands of colourful blooms. The motifs are drawn with intense detail and the background has a subtle grey ombre.

The chair has a very elegant shape with carved detail. It is painted in an antique off white with a brass studded trim around the printed upholstery.
