Description

A Fine Yew Wood Windsor Armchair with an Elm seat and Ash rear legs otherwise all Yew, the piercings in the back splats suggest the maker to be John or his brother Henry Gabbitas the earliest recorded chair makers in Worksop c 1822 to 1839 although the firm carried on after these dates being managed by Johns wife Elizabeth. This chair is in excellent condition with a good colour and patina.
