Early C19th Regency period carved gilt-wood framed 'girandole' convex -plate mirror.

Elegant Regency convex mirror with original gilding . Fitted with shaped twin candle-arms with carved sconces/candle nozzles , and crisply-carved classically inspired gilt-wood embellishments from antiquity .

The original mercury-silvered convex plate with reeded and ebonised slip surround. The top surmount with scroll acanthus leaf and central leaf-wrapped 'berry' finial , the base apron of similar foliate scroll design. All carving of good definition and depth. The rounded section frame with leaf carving detail to the quarters.

The reverse fitted with original back-boards.

Excellent original condition with gently-aged original gilding , minor areas of wear with 'bleeding' of 'rouge' gesso base showing .

No damage or losses.
