Amusing Good Quality Japanese Ivory Fish Box

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this most unusual Japanese ivory lidded box , the main body of the box is formed as a wicker creel that has been stuffed to bursting point with the catch of the day , the exquisite high quality fitted lid is carved as a platter of various species of native fish , the artist has managed to bring this everyday subject to life in the form of a very usefull trinket box , signed to the underside , a great addition to your collection !

The condition is lovely throughout.
