French Late 19th Century Walnut Fauteuil

A French late 19th century walnut fauteuil (open armchair) of large proportions in the Louis XV style.

This chairs has a cartouche-shaped padded & upholstered back with acanthus carving on the frame.

The arms have upholstered arm-rests with acanthus carving on the arm supports.

The upholstered seat has a serpentine shaped seat rail with carved shell decoration and scrolling carved acanthus.

The cabriole legs have a scallop shell design to the knee, leading down to carved acanthus and terminating in a scroll foot.

The upholstery is a cream colour and is in good order, the chair could be re-upholstered in your choice of fabric once purchased.

The chair is of good quality, in a stable condition & is ready to go straight into a home.
