This is a very good quality set of 4 antique ash & elm country farmhouse spindle back rush seated dining chairs, circa 1900, in excellent original condition, attributable to the Lancashire region of England. This is an original set and not matched together. The set consists of 4 dining chairs. All chairs boast lovely turned spindle backs and shaped back splats, above hand woven rush seats.
The front stretcher is heavy and turned – a good sign of quality. All chairs are made from top quality ash and elm and are firm and solid.
The chairs feature a rich brown ash and elm colour. They have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.

Condition Report:
These chairs are in excellent original condition. This is an original full and true set of chairs. They have not been matched together from smaller sets of chairs (which you see in some large sets of chairs for sale). The rush seats are all in excellent condition. Importantly, there are no breaks to the legs or backs of the chairs. The chairs have a lovely warm colour and patination. The chairs are heavy in weight, which is a good sign of quality. The frames of the chairs are solid and in excellent condition with no splits, breaks or lose movements. The chairs sit firm on the ground, do not wobble and are ready to use.
