Large Georgian Dressing Table Mirror

A very large and fine quality Georgian mahogany toilette or Dressing Table mirror. The mahogany has a lot of wildness in the figuring and it is most likely plum pudding or fiddleback mahogany. The mirror is strung all around with ebony including the two drawers and edges of the base. The uprights are reeded and mounted with bronze finals and side handles. The mirror while oblong in profile contains the original oval glass and the corners of the frame are inlaid with elegant stars. The whole is in excellent original condition with later Victorian period handles the only change. The whole has a rich deep colour and lustrous patina, with the odd blemish as would be expected of an antique piece. The mirror is very unusual and lovely quality and of a huge dramatic size. C.1810.
