This is a superb quality pair of Regency mahogany bar back dining chairs, circa 1815, in excellent original condition. The chairs feature a refined bar back above a pierced and reeded crossover back splat. Further below the backs of the chair is a fine reeded bar. The carvings on the chairs are extremely crisp, which is a sign of very good quality. The drop-in seats have been newly reupholstered in top quality taupe colour chenille. The seats are firm but comfortable. The chairs stand on elegant ring turned front legs with sabre legs to the rear. The chairs are in excellent original condition and boast a stunning colour and patination.
These chairs feature a rich red-brown colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
Condition Report:
This pair of chairs is in excellent original condition. The chairs are constructed of solid mahogany. The chairs retains the original polish, which is why the chairs boast such a lovely deep rich red / brown mahogany colour. The drop-in seats have been newly reupholstered in top quality taupe colour chenille. The upholstery is therefore clean, free from stains or marks. The seat frames and chair joints are also solid. There are no breaks to the backs or legs of any of the chairs. All chairs are solid in joint and ready to be used.
