Victorian Gilt and Gesso Overmantel Mirror C.1880

Description

This is a really beautiful and unusual Victorian overmantel mirror which dates from the late 19th century. The mirror has its original central mercury plate which is oval in shape and also supporting marginal mirrors. The ribboned and leaf moulded surround is surmounted by a cabochon and scrolling foliate cresting.

The mirror is a good size measuring 118 cms high and 127 cms wide to the overall maximum extremities.
