This is an original set and not matched together. The set consists of 6 side chairs and 2 armchairs. All chairs boast a reeded high back with graduated wavy shaped back splats above hand woven rush seated seats. The base of the chairs feature shaped cabriole legs and connecting stretchers all round for strength. The front stretcher is heavy and turned – a good sign of quality. The armchairs feature elegant down swept arms on turned supports. All chairs are made from top quality oak are and are firm in joint and do not wobble. As the chairs boast the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

These chairs are in excellent original condition. This is an original full and true set of chairs. They have not been matched together from smaller sets of chairs (which you see in some large sets of chairs for sale). The rush seats are all in excellent condition. Importantly, there are no breaks to the legs or backs of the chairs. The frames of the chairs are solid and in excellent condition with no splits or lose movements.
