A fine harlequin(closely matched) set of eight ash and fruitwood Lancashire spindleback chairs(six singles and two carvers). This particular set is very close matching and all still retain these original patina and have huge character. All the seats have been re-rushed at some stage in the 20th century and have mellowed down nicely. These chairs are of a classic and very attractive design and are still in reproduced today. What cannot be reproduced is over 200 years of tactile character and patination. Given their age all chairs are in excellent condition and have been cleaned and wax polished.
