Description

A very impressive 19th century high quality gilded wall mirror, ideal for use as a general purpose wall mirror or as an overmantel. The later plate is retained by an elaborate swept frame that has identical shell motifs to all four corners with further detailing half way along three sides, all surmounted by a larger central cresting. The beautifully soft water gilding is original with a particularly attractive colour and a glowing lustre finish. This stunning mirror is English and it dates from c.1870s.
