A really stylish and elegent Regency period armchair. The chair is made of Ash which has been painted to resemble Rosewood, this paint has largely worn away with use and left a most wonderful colour and patina. The chair is of the most elegant design with a turned front leg incorporating the arms of the chair and a back carved with stylised scrolling leaves, with a rope twist bar back. The seat is caned and the whole is in excellent condition. C.1820.
