Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1900s.
It has tapering upright supports with brass finials and decorative brass screw knobs which allow the mirror to tilt and to be held in place. The edges are beautifully trimmed with an ebony and boxwood string inlay, and stands on four out swept legs with castors. The mahogany has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
