Fine Pair of Gillows Carver Dining Chairs

Description

A particularly good quality PAIR of solid mahogany CARVERS almost certainly by Gillows of Lancaster.

In good original condition (though in need of re-covering, which is included in the price) this excellent pair of chairs have all the quality typical of this well-known firm of cabinetmakers.

The solid curved backs are of beautifully figured timber, with a carved centre rail below, whilst the uprights and bold scrolled arms are 'fielded'. They are supported on well-turned and reeded front legs terminating in typical Gillows 'toupee' feet. Great chairs.
