Here is a very good quality pair of Louis XV style upholstered beech & tapestry salon armchairs in excellent original condition, circa 1900. The chairs are constructed of solid beech and feature pretty carved cartouches to the frame the frame, scroll arms, a shaped back and a serpentine front, which terminate on cabriole legs. The chairs are upholstered in the original brown hand worked embroidered wool floral tapestry (not machined tapestry), which includes hand stitched petit-point work and depict a provincial scene. The tapestry is finished with the original hand tacked studded perimeter. Considering the upholstery is original, it’s in excellent condition boasting clean and vivid colours. The base of the suite is firmly sprung so that you do not sink into the seats but at the same time is extremely comfortable.

The chairs feature a rich brown beech colour. As they boast the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
The chairs are in excellent original condition. The chairs boast its original wool tapestry upholstery, which still retains its clean and vivid colours, and free of wear, holes or damage. The petit point work is hand stitched. The tapestry is finished with the original hand tacked studded perimeter. Likewise, there is no damage to the frame or breaks to the legs. The frames and arms are also in excellent condition with no splits or lose movements. As they boast the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The chairs are solid in joint and ready to use.
