Here is a good quality antique English Edwardian mahogany revolving office armchair (circa 1910) by Hillcrest Cabinet makers, England. The chair features an elegant shaped pieced fan back below a red leather brass studded bar back which, connects to two shaped arms and the padded red leather seat below. The seat is also finished with brass studwork to the perimeter. The elegant shaped splayed mahogany legs sit on the original castors. The chair rotates 360 degrees and the seat height can be adjusted. The chair is stamped ”Hillcrest, Registered Trademark, W.H.F., England” on the mechanism below the seat. The mechanism on this chair is in good condition and the chair is very comfortable to sit on.
This item features a rich mid red & brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism is in good original working condition. There are no breaks to the legs, backs or arms. The red leather seat is clean and free from damage, stains or rips. The chair is designed to rotate 360 degrees. It is also designed to recline and the seat height is adjustable. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
