As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality deeply carved Japanese lidded box,the tusk section is carved in deep relief with coiled three clawed dragons inset with mother of pearl eyes, the inset lid is also carved with a coiled dragon around a central circular finial ,this represents the dragons chasing the flaming pearl, a fine quality Japanese lidded box from the Meiji era.
The condition of the box is lovely with no damage or restoration , the inset base shows signs of slight movement.
