Here is a good quality antique English Victorian oak revolving office armchair (circa 1870) by S.E. & R. Johnson Cabinet makers of Warrington, Cheshire.
The elegant shaped splayed legs sit on brass castors. The chair rotates 360 degrees and the seat height is fixed. The chair is stamped “Established 1837, S.E. & R. Johnson Cabinet makers of Warrington, Cheshire” on the underside of the seat. The mechanism on this chair is in good condition and the chair is very comfortable.
This item features a rich mid brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in excellent original working condition. The red leather seat is clean and free of damage, stains or rips. The chair is designed to rotate 360 degrees; it is not designed to recline or be height adjustable. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
