An Attractive Pair of Hall Chairs

19th century
Description

A pair of Victorian hall chairs, of Gothic influence, in solid oak. The gently curving archtop backs have open panels with three trefoil details and two cut-out quatrefoil details above. The moulded-edged seats are supported by sabre rear legs and turned tapering octagonal legs to the front. These exceptionally stylish hall chairs retain their original finish with a good rich colour and patination. They are English, dating from c.1860s.
