A Beautiful Windsor Armchair

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Waterfall Antiques

A beautiful 19th century Windsor stickback armchair. The ash hoop retains six sticks and a central splat containing a most attractive cut-out reminiscent of a fleur-de-lis motif. The shaped arms with their gently scrolling supports are in fruitwood. The well figured solid elm seat is supported by elegantly turned legs united by an H-stretcher. This stunning late Georgian/early Victorian chair is English, c.1825 – c.1850, and has its original finish with a rich colour and patina.
