Unusual Set of Eight Solid Oak Victorian Spoon Back Chairs

This Unusual Set of Eight Solid Oak Victorian Spoon Back Chairs ca. 1870 have the original makers plaque, R.Garnett & Sons Warrington, a quality Victorian cabinet maker. The chairs have beautiful curved spoon backs with simple decorative carvings and central shaped back splat. They stand on splayed back legs and have turned front legs, finished with a fine porcelain castor. They are upholstered in a faux brown leather with stud trim and the upholstery is still in very good condition. The chairs have aged to a wonderful warm oak shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

Approximate dimensions are:

Height: 84 cm / 33 inches

Width: 48 cm / 19 inches

Depth: 48 cm / 19 inches

Seat height: 46 cm / 18 inches
